Eldest
(Christopher Paolini)

Publicidade
This title is the follow up to Paolini's "Eragon", a fast paced contemporary "Lord of the Rings" style epic. Paolini has successfully created a world full of beastly foes, elves and dwarfs, where Eragon, his protagonist, continues his journey to defeat the empire and the evil Galbatorix by travelling to Du Weldenvarden and training with the highly magical and skillful elves. It is during his time there that Eragon undertakes both physical and mental changes beyond expectation, making him more of a threat to the Empire than Galbatorix could begin to imagine.Trusted with the elves greatest secret, Eragon blossoms until war threatens his allies, the Varden, in Surda, the only Country not under the Empire's influence. He is forced to travel to their aid and partake in one of the greatest wars that society has seen for a century. Here Eragon discovers deciet and betrayal of the worst kind, forcing him closer to his heroic cousin Roran, and ending with his declaration of loyalty to him. This follow-up shows how Paolini has matured since "Eragon" as he manipulates 3 separate stories at the same time, showing a massive literary skill for cliff hangers! All i can say after reading this is bring on the next one!
