(Harvey Daniels and Steven Zemelman)
This book discusses the writing project movement, and its ability to improve writing instruction. From curriculum directors to English instructors, the book efforts to recognize common assumptions about teacher education and them illuminate, through a detailed description of a writing project, how procedures used in writing may provide useful strategies for training teachers to become more effective in composition classroom. With national findings for such programs still diminishing, the book, even though 22 years old, calls for improving teaching as its meaningful purpose.
