Rhetorical Traditions And The Teaching Of Writing
(Knoblauch, C.H. and Lil Brannon)

Publicidade
This book is a teaching manual that questions how teachers view and use Classical Rhetoric in their classrooms. Knoblauch and Brannon do not disregard the classic perspective but feel that teachers should reevaluate its effectiveness in modern composition pedagogy. The book offers a phenomenological approach of understanding language and learning. Rather than adhere to Classical Rhetoric that, traditionally, adhered to mechanized forms of composition instruction, Rhetorical Traditions and the Teaching of Writing challenges teachers to be more cognizant of their own pedagogies and implement relevant models of composition practice that benefits students. Knoblauch and Brannon call for student-centered writing environments that promote outcomes that offer students the opportunity to invest themselves into their writing.
