The Winchester Experience

Today was a very ordinary day so I decided to take up the odd invitation or two that I
receive in the mail and I dropped in at The University of Winchester and picked up
a book about their activities which are unquestionably "new" and "up to date".
I was surprised to see the recent building development at the former
King Alfreds College and it looks like they are all doing a great job there
with major improvements to the existing facilites. In fact the OLD COLLEGE
is practically unrecognisable.
The view cross to St Catherine's Hill is blocked out at the moment with
scaffolding ... and the road to the top is very mucky ... but then,
it was ever thus.
I am pleased to see that they have retainedthe name: Alfreds Campus as its nice
when you hold on to something of the past. Sometimes in the bid to be
new, innovative and modern the "Old" are cast aside in favour of the "new".
This Book offers ideas on Postgraduate: Professional: Foundation: and Part-time
and also is well illustrated with photographs of the members of the permanent
staff at this brand new University of Winchester here in Hampshire!
I was speaking with the Young Lady about arrangements for our Silver Reunion as I am one of the
graduates of 1981 ... and she was telling me that Drama has become an international
success at the University ... I wondered if it was anything to do with the former body of
experts such as myself ... however, I resisted the notion to ask such a question and
preferred her approach to today's drama students and drama lecturers, are the success story of the present.
In this respect I chose to highlight: MA Theatre and Media ... since I taught both
during the last 20 years both at home and abroad. This includes
Community drama: Performance Skills: Communication skills.
