Collection 110 Succes
(Editions Paul Beuscher - Arpege)

Publicidade
On many a hot sunny day in the middle of two years of continued "heatwaves" I stumbled
upon this collection ofsongs in French. So I had my French Dictionary at hand and
continued dipping in an out of these exquisite songs.

Last night I was listening to the Radio on the BBC and heard Petula Clark sing a song
in French ... This is my song ...was the recurring line. it was positively enchanting ... so
these songs sprung to mind ..

I selected

Monsieur Bebert! ...and the opening line

Des familles .....grabbed my attention
cross referenced with
Pleins d'principes

C'est "Monsieur" Bebert ... Le Roil des Gangsters
Au Cafe Wepler

very evocative lines these are ... without a shadow of doubt!

Not least is "L'Ame Des Roses" ...Ah! my friend Rose ... a wonderfully piquant phrase
on this day of all days, St. Valentine's Day, when the poet takes the silver pen out
and writes 8 lines in verse only to find out that another more worthy person
has won the first prize near Winchester.

But then, they alas! are writing as if music didnt matters at all, and have no
respect at all for the BBC Radio 3 Classical Music Week. I thought to myself
"how awfully rude to read those poems over such wonderful music" just now
as I was listening to Sean Rafferty's Programme which is a nightly occurence
and a wonderful relaxation here in Southampton.

The words are here with the music ... if music be the food of love ... play on.

Happy .... St. Valentine's Day .... excellent stuff!
