Methodology for determining the potential of electric energy conservation of electricity end uses in university buildings.This work presents a Methodology for determining the potential ofelectric energy conservation of electricity end uses. The methodologyis oriented to university premises, but it is also applicable to othertypes of installations. End uses considered in this work includelighting, air conditioning, personal computers and other electricdevices. Procedures for data gathering and determination ofconservation potential of each end use are presented. A statisticalmethodology for analyzing electricity bills is also presented.Furthermore, some useful indicators for energy diagnoses are developed.These indicators allow the estimation of the conservation potential ofa given installation through comparison with typical values extractedfrom the other energy diagnoses or technical literature. The proposedmethodology was applied in the main campus of University of São Paulo ?USP, one of the largest in Brazil with some 30,000 undergraduatestudents. A large amount of data is analyzed and discussed, yieldingglobal and specific indicators regarding end use characteristics andconservation potential within the campus.
