Sai,the judge?s orphaned granddaughter arrival brings in conflicts of emotions upsetting their monotony.Sai?s relation with a Nepali tutor Gyan ,turns bitter due to their colliding interests.The novel talks about the contradictions of east and west,poverty and wealth,immigrant and the resident.It is a remarkable novel about little people swept up in larger events of life which inevitably crushes them.
