The Fountainhead is story of idealistic architect Howard Roark - A person who don't want to compromise his artistic and personal vision. Because of this he is expelled from college. His idea of architecture doesn't fit with the common architetural ideals. He was unemployed and meets person like him- Henry Cameronand gets the job with him. Eventually Cameron also dies and warns him that if he won't make compromises with his ethics he will have the same end. As the story continues it seems that Roark is loosing everything but Roark is determined to retain his artistic integrity at all costs. There are lots of other characters like, Dominique Francon - The heroine of the novel, Gail Wynand - Person from the print media, Peter Keating - A aspiring architect and competitor of Roark, Ellsworth Toohey - A architectural critic.
The main theme is on architecture and revolves around individuality and personal ethics. Great book to read and understand the real world.
