At the beginning of this book we find some charakcters' presentation of Pestka, Ula, Marian and Julek. A little island became a place of entertainments for them. Once upon a time, this place was visited by a stranger boy with a wounded leg - Zenek. The children knew little about him, because the boy was very taciturn and secretive. They stopped him in the island and they wanted to know a lot of informations about searching Zenek's uncle. He became closer them day after day. One day, the boy offered resistance two hooligans, saved a child life, was telling stories about his hitchhikes. He aroused everybody admiration in spite of stealling apples. Everything changed when the children found out about his money's theft. Zenek felt very bad because of accusations and left the island, but hecame back very quickly.When Ula found out about Zenek's problems in home, about his father who was an alcoholic, who disowned him, she decided to earn that money. The girl felt sorry for him and wanted to help. Fortunately it tourned out that one of the hooligangs sneaked on Zenek unjustly. Everythings came to a good end because of Ula's father's help and faithful friends. At the end of this story Zenek found his uncle and came to him. Before that, he had gave a love letter to Ula.
