Deception Point
(Dan Brown)

Publicidade
Deception point is a narrative fiction that with its distinguishing characteristics of recitation actually forces a common person to think about certain vital issues of national importance. Its one of the several fiction novels written by Dan Brown, about whom I personally feel that in some or the other way he exposes the truth that a lay man is related to directly but is not aware of. I also feel that that truth is kept hidden by the system, an organization or a certain set of interacting units who are, in a way, involved in the construction of certain rules and boundaries for the lay men and the exposure or uncovering of that truth would lead to a uprising the common people and at the end of the day would actually disrupt and cause disorder in the particular system. So though the novel falls in the category of a fiction but somehow as a reader I felt that it?s not an imaginary tale. Deception point talks about a faux discovery made by NASA and how it is proclaimed to be true by a bunch people who are a part of the organization and that of the U.S. government on the whole. They go to a great extent so as to prove the artificial discovery to be a real one and in the whole process kill a number of people being least concerned about their designation. The whole Discovery and all the facts related to it are faked to save an election campaign of an U.S. president in power and to prevent the privatization of their organization, ?NASA? in the long run. The way the story has been presented is good. The plotline, the chronology of the events is fantastic. The characters and events have been narrated in an interesting manner such that the story moves from one point to the other point efficiently. The way characters and their designations have been created as a reader you actually start believing them. They don?t appear to be phony, static or unbelievable. For a person with non-science background the geological terms have been explained in great detail. As a reader you like it as well as add something to your knowledge bank. Few days back I got the chance to watch a movie ?in plane site? and after watching it I have really started believing in conspiracy theory. According to that movie it?s interpreted that may be 9/11 was a conspiracy and that too created by the government. So after reading this so called fiction I somehow hold an opinion that may be at times some of the discoveries made by people, organizations, and government institutions are actually faked just to support some political agenda or a campaign. May be most of the time things are not really in existence, whether its some scientific theory, some political issue/problem like terrorism, etc.but are just created to attract , turn or divert attention .I really liked Dan Brown?s work in Da Vinci Code and Digital Fortress that?s why wanted to read this equally famous work by him and found this one really appealing. Title seems to be technically accurate. It neither understates nor overstates the book content. So on the whole it?s a good effort that forces one to interpret, explore the issues prevailing in society. Hence it?s worth reading.
