Winter in the Northern part of the Empireare cruel and bitter. The snow falls thick and the wind blows icy cold, chilling everyone to the bone.
For the last three day's the Royal baggage train, trundled through the frozen wastes, slowly making its way northwards, towards the Frontiers post's were they hoped to seek shelterand warmth in the friendly trading post of Nicea.
The horse drawn cart's are laden with cloth' salted meat and fish, herbs and spices, and one weary special guest!.
For this special guest was no other than Princess Jade, making her way secretly to Nicaea, for her prearranged marriage to the Prince of Nui-Pu. These are troubled timed in the Empire, for war has plagued this fair land for years, for the ailing king of Mord ( Princess Jades home land), is suffering heavy defeat from the foul armies of darkness.
The king of Mord's only chance of finding everlasting peace, is by forging an alliance - through marriage of his only child Princes Jade to Prince Kauffman of Nui - Pu.
For with this marriage, it seemed hat king Mord's problems would at long last be solved.................
Snow was falling, but not to heavy, as the advance guard of the Royal Guard, rode ahead of the eight baggage cart's, across a frozen lake. In the near distance the riders could just make out the snow covered peak's of the Dragon's Teeth mountain's, jutting out of the low cloud.
At the base of the mountain obscured by the snow and icy wind, was the small trading post of Travellers Rest.
