Lord Of The Flies

Should be called Lord of the Fleas.. Highly overated. My older sister, who excelled in English, got turned off books for a long time because of this book. She has a photographic memory and she could picture what was happening to Piggy. All I could hear for weeks was her sobs. The book is about some awful boys who were stranded on an island. This is no Gillegan's island. The boys fought about everything; mostly about who was going to be in charge. They went from bad to worst. Eventually they were rescued because they set the island on fire. Before that, at least two boys died. The book implies that the behavior of the boys reflects the behavior of mankind.The cartoon, the Simpsons, does a spoof of the story. If I were a parent, I wouldn't let my child read this book.
