As its most significance, the well-knit plot and the explicit line of thought thoroughly thread through the book. Although it is divided into many chapters, each of them is written in a pithy style. The layout of such literature fulfills the post-modern readers? tastes.The master of narrative pace is another feature of the book. At the different highlights of the story, the author adopts different narrative pace. For example, when the story goes to a climax, the author would accelerate the pace and shorten the text and dialogue. When some texts need the detailed describe, the author would elaborate it with abundant data in a wide margin. Such written skill and the fascinating plot can completely draw the readers? attention and impulse their brains.One of the figures which makes me think most is the assistant of the bishop, named Silas. Once he presents, there must be something bad happens. In order to protect the ?truth? in his mind, he murders so many innocent people. And it is without any doubt that people can not live without belief, no matter which is the god or truth.
