Pazair has tothwart Bel-Tran?s attempts to destroy Egypt?s infrastructure. He is helped by his wife, Neferet, the head of the Memphis Guards, Kem,Killer, Kem?s baboon, and the former Tjaty, Bagey. He desperatelyneeds Suti, his blood brother, to assist him in this impossible task, but he has gone missing after escaping from a Nubian prison. There are many attempts on Pazair?s life and he has so few people toturn to.
