It is a very interesting book. It takes the mind to a different level of thought. This book has stirred up so much talk in this day and age. Everybody has something to say concerning the plot, the words, the thought of the writer, or something else. It is set in Paris, France. A brilliant art lover Jacques Saunière, the curator of the Louvre Museum in Paris has been murdered, and his body is found with naked with a cryptic message written on his torso in his own blood and posed like Leonardo Da Vinci's famous drawing, Vitruvian Man. Also a message has been left written by Saunière, and Robert Langdon a professor of Religious Symbology has been made mention. This murder is been investigated by Captain Bezu Fache, and he looks at Langdon as his first suspect. Sophie Nevue, granddaughter of Jacques Saunière comes into play in the story, when she sees the story of the murder and the message left behind. She believes differently about Langdon, and tries to help him solve who the true murderer is. As the story goes in deeper, it is discovered that the Mother Church have preserve secrets showing that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and that he fathered a child. Da Vinci's famous arts help along in solving the truth about this mystery of the Holy Grail.
The Catholic organization Opus Dei also plays a major role in this novel. An albino monk named Silas with his teacher Bishop Manuel Aringarosa are also after the secret of the Holy Grail. They receive information about the Grail though the 'Teacher'. They go through all lengths to get to it.
With Langdon and Neveu on the run and an angry Bezu Fache on their tail, Langdon decides to turn to his friend Sir Leigh Teabings. Sir Teabings decides to take them to London, and not knowing they probably left all safety behind in Paris, they agreed. Having arrived in London, the story unfolds in a way which surprises everyone. Sir Teabings has been captured by his manservant and Silas, and Sophie and Langdon starts in search of him. Silas has shot Bishop Aringarosa, Sir Teabings manservant is killed, and now Sophie and Landgon have received a message stating that the Teacher has Teabings. In their rush to meet this teacher, they are held at gunpoint by Sir Teabings who is in fact the Teacher. He explains his treachery of Sophie's grandfather's murder, and how her family was murdered because of the Holy Grail. Some discussion goes on between them ans it so happens that Teabings gets unarmed and is lying on the floor, when at this point captain Bezu Fache comes in and apprehends Sir Teabings, who is screaming to know of the whereabouts of the Holy Grail. Sophie Neveu is reunited with her grandmother and brother, and Langdon finally finds the place of the Holy Grail.
