The Hound Of The Baskervilles
(Arthur Conan Doyle)

Publicidade
A gripping story by the author. It transportsthe reader to the British moors and one can feel the hound lurking some where in the background. The storyline is well knitted and each event to another, the reader cannot leave the book in the middle. The suspence begins from the word 'go'. One can never guess the climax. This book by Arthur Conan Doyle is a master piece. Even today,in the modern world where eletrocnics have invaded our daily lives and we are TV addicts, stories like 'The Hound of the Baskervilles ' still hold their forte. The modern suspence thrillers are full of violence and gore. The stories have become too materialistic and reflect the impatience of today's world. 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' tells us how the mind of a genius works. On one hand we have the simplicity of thought of Dr. Watson, who fails to see the common hints and the readeralso follows the leads alongwith him. But it takes agenius and an acute observer like Sherlok Homes to really solve the puzzle, who does not hesitate to take risks himself. The hound does not discriminate while killing and I'm sure Watson would not have undertaken a risk as Holmes does. The backdrop is sinster enough and each character looks suspicious. One always feels that anything can happen any minute. Such storylines are found no more and nor do we have genius like Doyle. This is a book that is going to be read by all generations and can never fail to interest people.
