It's another peerless novel written bythe author of "Sophia's World". The story is astonishing but it also makes us realize about obviousness of everything in this world. It has a power to sootheany suffering and dilemma which life brought us. Writing the novel one has a feeling that everything has its own place and that there's peculiar beauty in that world-order. A reader candiscern a fabulous background of real life, however, at the same time it's indicated that even in fairy tales there are some rules which we have to obey in order to not loose our chance for happiness. George, 15-year-old boy, receives a letter from his dad. It's a petty think, isn't it? However the story is much deeper. A boy's father died when George was four. The man sensed his inevitabledeath and decided to write a letter to his son. He wrotea story ofmysterious girl with oranges. Through the letter, George gets to know his deceasedfather better. He finds out an existance of tight bond between him and his father, which could not be destroyed even by death. Under influence of the story the boy happens also to discern simplicity and fragility of life. There's also another thread in the novel which is connected with Hubble's telescope. What's the relation between it and the main heroine? Who's the mysteriousgirl in orange anorak? Why George's father wrote about that to his son? A graet virtue of the story is its fabulous dimension and agelessness. At times it deals with very difficult issues to a teenage-reader. Because who, being just a teenager, would like to read about death and the futility of life? Anyway, it's the most suprising thread of the novel. Thus everyone should read it!
