At the ball, it is derived that Bingley who later falls in love with Jane , handsome and earning 5000 per yr. is very agreeable but Darcy though tall and handsome ,earning 10000 per yr. is declared as abominable and proud and this feeling about him in Eliza?s mind is engendered and further tarnished by Wickham; only to know of its falsehood later. Darcy who falls in love with Eiza , who declines his proposals under the pretext of her ill-founded prejudices against him. Appalled Mr.Darcy in his letter to her reveals the falsehood of her accusations and Wickham?s true character; which she reveals to no one except Jane ; only to be horrified later by elopement of Lydia with him when Eliza is enjoying her summer with Gardiners-her uncle and aunt , at Pemberly?s lovely woods ? which is Darcy?s home place. She almost shatters while revealing this to Darcy who makes a silent resolution to help her ? and only the Gardiners are known of it. His help to get Lydia married to Wickham is almost unknown to everyone but Eliza comes to know of it through Mrs.Gardiner. Darcy also approves the affection of Jane and Bingley towards each other , which he himself had declined previously . Darcy also gets engaged to Eliza ,who is long ashamed of her ill-founded prejudices and to whom Darcy owes his change in behavior and understanding for the good ; despite all the bitter accusations of his aunt against Eliza and also claims his hand for her daughter .
