Humane, everlasting values shown by the author are identified with those contained in New Testament. At first it was supposed to be just a fairy tale, but all of the human's flaws and disadvantages and values one should follow in life shown in this book make it a very useful lecture for every human, no matter where does he or she come from. These drawbacks are as follows: selfishness, avarice, drunkenness, self-interest and materialism. Said values, however: faithfullnes, friendship, love, responsibility and disinterestedness. The little prince leaves his tiny planet B-612 claiming it to be too small and wishing to find the answers to many of tormenting him questions. He also desires to find a true friend. So he wanders across 6 different planets, just to in the end visit planet earth. Due to their personality traits, the ones he meets don't make him understand the world of people any better. he notices people are strange. The Businessman follows a simple rule of having, not being, the Geographer focues fully on the world of things, the Conceited Man is characterized by self-admiration, the Drunkard drinks in order to forget he drinks. It is after he gets to meetthe Fox - a wisdom personified - he finds out why it is so hard for people to find friends. The fox says that people don't have time, they buy things in the shops, and there are no shops selling friends. To have friends one needs time, he or she needs to give something from him or herself and there has to be someone to accept it. It's not the material goods concerned, these are compassion, talk and help. Friendship and love is about giving your own time to other Human being, it's about being with that person and sharing his or hers joy and sadness. People still lack the time to truly meet somebody (to domesticate as the Fox says). The Fox tells the Little Prince that he is nothing more than one of thousands little boys to him. The same with himself, he's only a one fox, similar to the other foxes in the world. But with a moment of domestication they will become the one for each other and will need one another. Everything will seem to be remind of him when his gone. This domestication brings a risk of suffering, tears and longing but it is definatly worth it, for life without any bonds, friendship or love means nothing. Lack of time prevents people to create these bonds, thus they are lonely. The Little Prince then reminded his rose, left all alone on the planet far away from earth. He thought of all the time he gave her, protected her from cold, watered her, drove away caterpillars and listened her complaining. He then realized he needs that rose, as much as she needs him. He also understood that she is the most important rose to him, the only one in the world. Even if there was someone considering her quite normal he would still think of her as unique and one-off. It is so, because one sees things as they are with heart, not with the eyes. The Little Prince realized he loves his rose, misses her and wants to return to her, and if anything bad happened to her all the stars would stop shining. Through the humanism of the novel the author shows people's flaws and the most important truths of all, values such as friendship, love, dignity and respect for human. Humanus derived from latin means human. Humanism is an attitude, expressed with care for the other people, their happiness and honor.
