Introduction
My collection of Dilbert books begins to grow at a rapid pace and the irony is that it is growing at a time when I am beginning to make my move from engineering to management:). The latest to hit my bookshelf is I'm not Anti-Business, I'm Anti-Idiot.

The Contents
This book is all about the office politics within Dilbert's organization. Unlike the other books, wherein other things apart from the office politics also have a place, this book concentrates only on the office politics.

Amongst other interesting topics it deals with subjects such as Effective Layoffs, Catbert's devious plans to make the life of employees interesting to the say the least, Performance Appraisals and Promotions. Also in this strip, The Pointy Haired Boss meets his long lost brother.

Critic's Viewpoint
The USP of Dilbert strips is the fact that the employees the world over have been able to associate themselves with Dilbert and his co-workers. Of course, every now and then Scott Adams ventures into the personal life of the characters to find some humor there, but still his strong point is the corporate worklife. And this book is completely devoted to this aspect.

This fact makes it more appealing and lot more fun to read. Topics like Layoffs, Appraisals and HR policies have been selected to take the brunt of the stick and you always get the feeling, I knew this policy was not right. It is amazing at the regularity with which Scott hits the right nerve when it comes to corporate worklife.

There are also some simple humor on various characters that you see in you day to day work life.

For e.g. one character walks up to Dilbert and says: "I need this information today. Plus a complete analysis of alternatives." and hands a paper to Dilbert.

Dilbert immediately takes the paper wrinkles it and puts it in the trash.

The character gets angry and says, "That wasn't nice."

Dilbert retorts, "In today's lesson, you learn that you're my co-worker, not my boss."

Immediately, a hundred names to identify that character in my office went through my mind. That is the strength of Scott Adams strips, they just manage to ring a bell somewhere everytime.

This book is assembled as a collection of individual strips with a few small series. There is no categorization of the strips, but the central theme of Office Worklife and Politics is good enough to keep the fun and joy intact throughout the book.

All my favorite characters i.e. Pointy Haired Boss, Dilbert, Alice, Wally, Dogbert and Catbert show up in this book and this makes the book truly entertaining.

Summary
This book has quickly climbed to the top of my favorite Dilbert collections. I would give this Scott Adams offering a high Five star rating.

About Scott Adams
Scott Adams has done an MBA from UC Berkley. He started using Dilbert strips during presentations and found them to be a success. He then went on to syndicate the Dilbert strips in 1989. Today, Dilbert is syndicated in around 1400 publications world-wide making it one of the most syndicated strips of all time.

He decided to organize his strips into a book and came up with his first book The Dilbert Principle which was a bestseller in both US and UK. Dogbert's Management Handbook is his second book.

Dilbert strips are also a big merchandising success with Dilbert merchadise being one of the most sought after by the poor stressed out employees of today.
