skip beat is a hilarious book starring a young girl named kyoko who ran away to tokyo with her childhood friend, shotaro. shotaro, whose parents owned the finest japanese inns in the country, wanted to become a celebrity instead of taking over the family business. he had then asked kyoko, to come with him. eagerly, she had agreed. once there, shotaro made it in the business while kyoko worked all day, two jobs, in order to pay the rent for the expensive apartment that they were renting. one day,when she had decided to come over to the agency, bringing over some food, overheard sho telling his manager(a young woman) that kyoko didnt matter at all and that he had just brought her because it seemed convenient at the time. angry, kyoko threw the box of food at him, declaring that she was to have her revenge. of course, sho has her thrown out, not before he tells her that the only she is to get back at him, she would have to get into the business herself. the demons inside her unleashed, kyoko gets a makeover, buys new clothes and completely changes her appearence. she then quits one of her jobs and stays at the inn that she was working at at the time. after that, she sets her mind on making it into an agency in order to get her revenge. but first there is an audition. will she make an impression on the prsident? will she pass the first round, and make it to the second? but most importantly will kyko make the audition and go on to become a celebrity, or will her quench for revenge block her vision from what she really wants?
