(Robert James Waller)

Publicidade
This is a story you will never forget. This is the story of Robert Kincaid, a world known photographer and Frescesca Johnson, an Iowa wife. Kincaid is a photographer for National Geographic, who travelled all over the world from the Asian deserts to ancient cities through distant rivers but feels he is out of sync with his time. Francesca Johnson, a middled-age housewife, once a young war bride from Italy, lives in the hills of southern Iowa. Shelives off her memory and dreams of her childhood. In their respective worlds, each of them is happy, but yet when Kincaid drives through that part of Iowa, where the heat is intolerable, he makes a wrong turn and ends up in her farm. He gets out of his car and knocks in her door to ask for directions and at that point their illusions are blown away and they are joined in a romantic experience so uncommon, stunning and beautiful that the memory of ithunts them forever. As a photographer Kincaid uses light to reveal his own kind of truth. Hekeeps taking pictures of this old brige called Madison County and through this bridge this love affair develops into something extraordinary rare and brilliant. The experience is deeply sensual and moving. The book is extremely well written.
