This is a story within a story. A detective who is hired to find a missing husband actually finds himself while looking for the missing man. As the detective relives the nuances of another human being he finds himself becoming that other person. It is a story about identity- what it is, what it means, how it can be redefinded once it is lost, and how one person can affect the identity of another. Extremely well written, this novel affects the reader's identity in a very viseral way.
