The Conquest Of Gaul
(Julius Caesar)
The Conquest of Gaul is a war diary written by Gaius Julius Caesar himself. He descripes with dry sense of humour his battles and with sharp perception the nature of human being. Book gives a new approach to history of the warware and fighting, but also to cultural heritage of Mid-European people, to psychology, to diplomacy and to politics. The knowledge of psychology and the mind of man is presented in many occasions, because psychological way to fight is one important element in Caesar's campaign. Language and story telling is of uncommon quality and vivid to written two milleniums ago. While writing, Caesar is descriping fluently, but dryly his opponents and their ways to fight.
