As You Like It????.. As You Like It, is a romantic comedy. The play begins with a dialogue between Orlando and Adam. Orlando is the youngest son of Sir Rowland de Boys, while Adam is his servant. Orlando confides to Adam that he is never been treated properly by his elder brother Oliver.
Charles, the Duke?s wrestler pays a visit to Oliver and in reply to a question from Oliver Charles says that Duke Fredrick had banished Duke Senior from his kingdom and Duke Senior is now living with some Lords in the Forest of Arden but his daughter Rosalind is still living with Duke Fredrick?s daughter Celia because they are both very attached. Charles also tells Oliver that Orlando wishes to participate in the wrestling match against him. As Charles regards Oliver, he asks him to convince Orlando to withdraw his name from the wrestling match but Oliver instigates Charles to kill Orlando in the match.
Orlando defeats Charles in the wrestling match so after the match Rosalind and Celia went to congratulates Orlando for his victory. But when Orlando and Rosalind saw each other they fell in love.
When Orlando returns home, Adam tells him that Oliver wants to kill him therefore Orlando and Adam left the house and went to the Forest of Arden.
On the other hand, in the palace Duke Fredrick ordered Rosalind to leave the palace because Rosalind is becoming more and more popular among the people than his daughter Celia. Rosalind and Celia along with the court-jester Touchstone left the palace. Rosalind disguised as a man, named Ganymede and Celia as Aliena.
After they have arrived in the Forest of Arden they met two shepherds, named Corin and Silvius. Corin is an old man and Silvius is a young man, deeply in love with a shepherdess named Phebe. Rosalind buys a cottage and the folks of sheep and settles down in the forest with Celia.
Orlando and Adam also reached the Forest of Arden. Adam was exhausted from the journey and he was also very hungry, so Orlando goes in the forest in search of food and there he met Duke Senior and other Lords.
While, in the palace Duke Fredrick thinks that Orlando has helped Celia and Rosalind to flee from the palace and therefore he ordered Oliver to bring Orlando before him. To find his brother; Oliver also goes to the Forest of Arden.
In the forest, Orlando meets Rosalind disguised as Ganymede and on his insistence he began to address Ganymede as Rosalind and convey all his feeling to Ganymede. One day when Orlando was coming to visit Rosalind he saves his brother?s life from a lioness. After the incident Oliver becomes a changed man When Oliver went to Rosalind to inform about the incident he saw Celia and falls in love with her and tells his brother that he will marry Celia tomorrow. When Rosalind went to visit Orlando, Orlando tells her that he will no more address her as Rosalind because she is not his Rosalind, then Rosalind promise him that if his love is true then he will marry Rosalind tomorrow, she also tells Phebe, who has fallen in love with Ganymede, that if for some reason Phebe rejects to marry Ganymede than she has to marry Silvius. Touchstone also falls in love with Audrey and wants to marry her.
On the appointed day, everybody assembled to the pre- planned venue. Rosalind comes with Celia and all realizes that Rosalind was Ganymede. In this way four couples are united on the same day. After the marriage ceremony a messenger comes and informs that Duke Fredrick has returned his kingdom to duke senior and in this way all ends happily.
