Busted
(SM Thompson)

Publicidade
A handful of people got together and called themselves a Writers Club in Ireland many moons ago.
The outcome was a step away from just observing my tenants running in and out of my
villa in the North to activating the art of poetry writing.

Busted ... Opens with the poem

"A Perfect Metaphor" and the structure of this poem is perfectly symmetrical in
line, in shape and in word, content and construction.

The Opening line ... "It is like the road to Damascus" is a biblical reference which
can be developed further and "the day the earth moved" creates a nuance a
sense of great happenings in the world and a literal experience as well
as a poetic one is co-joined in this first stanza.

"Recollection a feeling of remembrance" co-exists with "what a perfect metaphor"
and the search for perfection takes the poet into words and cadences of metre
that create a natural flow of language in this first poem ..

"October 17" starts with a character who is a factory worker and focuses upon
this immediately as an introductory line ...Ali takes a step forward and
moves into an office" here we see the character Ali make a step towards
full time employment and thus the poet creates a feeling of achievement
in this poem ..

Excellent stuff ...
