One of the excellent books I have read - which prompted me to write a reviewManay of us in the business world, passionate about productivity improvements, waste reduction, cost reduction etc. have heard about and some of us have used the principles of Lean Manufacturing. Here the way Bart goes about explaining Lean Design is excellent.Here are some examples:1> His Mantra: Optimize Strategic Ilities, Minimize Evil Ings, wherein Strategic Ilities are 'Key Values' and Evil Ings are 'Wasteful Processes'2> The Strategic Ilities / Key Values to be optimized as Performability, Affordability, Featurability, Deliverability, Useability, Maintanability, Durability, Imageability etc3> The Evil Ings / Wasteful Processes / attributes to be minimized as Complexity, High Precision, Variability, Sensitivity, Immaturity etcWhile I appreciate the high value add by the author, my take from the book is the application of Lean Design Principles in our day to day lifeHave a closer look at 'Optimize Key Values and Minimize Wasteful Things' to our Personal Life. The mantra is very simple to understand, very easy to practice and in my opinion is a SUCCESS FORMULA
