Outsource (competing In The Global Productivity Race)

There are many instances, where, for some specific point of time or period of time, works or portions of works are asked to be done by some other person, agency or organization. This may be in personal life, or in an organization. This may be due to difficulty in ourselves doing it, or it may be done better, &/or cheaper, &/or faster from outside, or due to some other season. This, in essence, is outsourcing & has been done in many cases for a long time. It has its pros & cons. We can't do all things ourselves, since we do not have expertise, adequate resources & abilities in all disciplines. In view of this, outsourcing is essential. But of late, it has taken a big leap, since many of the large chunks of jobs/works of various types, are being outsourced to other areas/countries. In this way, those employees who have been doing this type of work, suddenly lose their job & work, & are also not able to quickly retrain themselves for other jobs, & find themselves jobless, or on reduced status or pay or wage.
The author says that initially, outsourcing on a large scale, was limited to Information Technology, but it has now become a big challenge, since it has gone beyond I.T., to many new areas, teachers, nurses, tele marketers tax preparers, market researchers etc. & besides USA, it has been done by many other countries like U.K., Germany, Japan etc. Every issue has two sides. Outsourcing out of a country to some other country, may be all right for the companies, from the point of view of their being competitive, & being able to capture & continue to prevail upon the market, but the people in this country are losing their jobs, livelihood, morale, expertise etc., probably for a long time. Is it fair from the humanitarian point of view? But how many consider humanitarian points of view?
