Orhan Pamuk did receive this years nobelprice. The book Snow.describes the modern Turkey and the same country some time ago.The good old formulas blended and comparing the western and eastern culture, spicedwith some politics and erotic is still liked within the fine literature circles and contexts. Another nobel price winner who also liked the same formulas, was Ivo Andic writer from the Balkan who has had a deep sympathy for the Otoman empire, got the nobel price in 1961, if my memory does not fail . ( n.b. see below ).Long and complicated sentences are significant for both writers.The large live experience or at least extraordinary capability of looking through The book is recommended by several reasons ..it is actual like modern Turkey wich is entering the european union and their accompanying questions, the new and old fears and questions about ( fundamentalism, islamism, tortures anti terror war ) a.s.o.Everything is described by an insider .Beauiful orientalic way to tell stories does not leave anyone untouched.

Ivo Andic was born near Travnik in Bosnia i Herzegovina and was given the nobel price for literature in 1961.
