The reason that we all love is that it feels wonderful, it brings us joy, purity and simplicity. The more we feel it, the more we want it. Unfortunately, for many couples, it is not realy clear that love requires more than a responsive feeling.Pure and unselfish love is created when one person gives love to the another. One person gives, and the other person recieves. If all goes well, the person who received love gives back true and unselfish love to the first person. True love requires both of the partners to give unselfishly to each other.Love can be given in many ways. The most simple way to give love to the partner is care, to be kind, to be thoughtful and to express big loving heart.Many marriages decline because the husband and wife do not talk with each other, they do not spend time with each other, and specially do not understand each other. They become strangers for a long period of time.Sometimes the husband and wife find it very difficult to discuss issues like unselfish love, but it does not mean that true unselfish love is weak. Unselfish love has given people, through the history, the courage to deal with their problems, to keep loving each other. This is the reason that unselfish love is the most powerful force in the world - it causes us to feel so deeply that we want and ready to give everything to the one we love. The meaning of unselfish is not to think only about your needs or wishes, but to think about others, about their needs and wishes. So what is the basic ingredient, or the main principle which would guarantee a successful marriage?Even with a wide consensus that unselfish love is the highest value, marriages still fail.Couples should go through a process of discussion, study, prayer and truly honest communication. The husband and wife need to reach the point where they can look each other in the eyes and agree that giving unselfish love to each other, their children and other people is indeed a centeral desire of their lives. Both as individuals and as a couple, they need to make the commitment that giving unselfish love to others will become a way of life, and the root of all their decision making.If couples adopt unselfish love as the primary ethic that drives all their decisions, their marriage will improve and be successful.In order to make a successful marriage, unselfish love must become a constant topic of conversatoins. ForwardDuring the time we studied about love, we were exposed to different topics.We were asked to do a project about one of the many subjects of love.In order to choose the topic for the project, we debated between two: Pure love and unselfish love. Both topics seemed to us very interesting and we also found articles about them.At first we chose to work on unselfish love, but we were told that the subject is wide and not profound enough. We decided to change the subject to pure love. We began to work but we did not find enough material.Finally we decided to learn about successful marriage which includes unselfish love.The next step was to begin working on it.We hope you will enjoy reading thepaper.
