My sister's Keeper by Jody Picoult is a tense, emotional and full of insight novel which at times can be heart-wrenching. The story evolves around a family with a daughther, Kate,who is plagued with Leukemia and Anna her sister who is not sick but might as well behas undergone countless surgeries, transfusions and shots so she can keep her sister alive. Anna who was conceived by preimplantatonso genetically she can be a bone narrow donor match for Kate, a role as a kid she never challenged. When is became a teenagershe started to question who she truly is and found outshe was always defined in conjonction with her sister and she made a decision that her family found appalling, a decision that would break the family and their struggle for survival and have fatal consequences for Kate. This novel is extremely well written and raises a vast array of ethical questions. Her style is flawless and she handles this pertinent issue with great clarity.
