Fluid Mechanics
(sachin)
Fluid is the substance which has the ability to flow through a given medium. It does not have a particular shape but conforms to the shape of medium in which it is flowing. Fluid mechanics is the sub discipline of continuum mechanics that studies fluids, specifically, liquids and gases. In advance it can be subdivided into fluid statics, the study of fluids in motion, the study of fluids at rest, and fluid dynamics. Fluid mechanics is one of the oldest and richest divisions of mechanics and applied physics. They are literally absorbed in fluids, they simply cannot live without air and water their bodies are primarily water. Their complex physics of general interest and not only are fluids, but it is broadly recognized that fluid mechanics is a necessary part of the complete design and manufacture of nearly all contemporary machinery, structures and devices. At rest, Fluid static?s is the science of fluids and it is a sub field within fluid mechanics. Their phrase is commonly passes on to the mathematical treatment of the subject. It holds the study of the conditions under which fluids are at rest in constant equilibrium. The use of fluid to do work is known as hydraulics, and the science of fluids in movement is fluid dynamics. Fluid dynamics has a large range of applications, it includes calculate forces and moments on aircraft, through pipelines the mass flow rate of petroleum is determined, predicting weather patterns. Fluids are bumping with one another and solid objects, it is a comprised of molecules. The continuum statement, still considers fluids to be constant. The properties such as temperature, pressure, density, and velocity are taken to be well defined at significantly small points and are unspecified to differ constantly from one point to another.
