The Process (of Kafka)
(Kafka)
The Process (of Kafka) Without knowing of what crime isaccused to him, Joseph K., a bank employee with a good position, are arrested, only awaking, the day of his thirtieth anniversary. This arrest, but, will notprevent him to leave house nor to go to work. During the year that follows,Joseph K. will try to demonstrate his innocence and, simultaneously, to know ofwhat he accuses himself to him. In order to obtain it will look for it aid ininfluential people, but its way to come will be clumsy and every time will beseen more immersed in a world that does not understand and that it navigatesit, and guiltier to the eyes of the court. Finally, the night before turningthirty years, without showing a clear opposition, Joseph K. will be executed ina quarry by two twigs. Of this summary of the narrationof the Process a denunciation of the cruelty and the irrationality of justicecould be extracted before an individual, and of you incapacitate it of thisdefending itself. However, it is necessary to consider that this novel, although that in third person is narrated from the point of view of itsprotagonist, that is to say, the maximum involved in the subject. Therefore, wewill have to ask to us if there are to understand the narration thread byranda, or must take a reading less ingenuous: looking for cracks and analyzingthe reactions of Joseph K. and by those who surround it. There is similarity tome more adapted to praise/pour off me by this second option, which brings tothink to me that the subject of the Process is you incapacitate it of a subjectto find a place in the society, to know how to live as it hopes that it doesit, and the fault sense that this causes to him. In order to reach this conclusionI have considered different questions. On the one hand, I have valued the factthat the novel and, therefore, the process begins the day that Joseph K. turns30 years. That is to say, when in general one hopes that a person must begin tohave her place to the society. Until then it seems that Joseph K. had notnoticed it in lack, at least not with as much intensity as to feel guilty -,was contented with a good work and visiting Elsa per week once, while Mrs.Grubach solved all the homemade problems to him. One of the other reasons thatmove away to me of a reading in which Joseph K. is victim of the power andjustice, is the fact of not understanding the court like a real and outercourt, but like an inner court, within the head of Joseph K: the conscience ofJoseph K. that on the one hand accuses it and by another one defends it. Ofthis way it would be explained that Joseph K. to the first visit knows to findthe court with few data, or who, by example, the day of the execution is hopingthe twigs without to be warned. To the 30 years, Joseph K. or hasobtained a good position to the bank and he is proud, he wants to pretend thatwith this or has enough, but at heart knows that he is not able to integrateitself to the world, that does not know to live. This it is the conflict, thereason for which the court (its conscience) accuses to him. Therefore, it needsto find a place in the society. A way to try to obtain will be showing it toits validity from Literature, writing its biography, but the task will beimpossible to carry out to him. Another way to try to justify its life will beby means of the women: the Bürstner young lady, the woman of the courts andLeni nurse.
