Shining

I have no doubts that many people have heard about this title,no matter what kind of literature they do prefer.After all, Stanley Kubrick, in person, has made a film with Jack Nicholson ,based on "Shining",which is a really good,if not the best,recommendation of "Shining".The book is about an family - a marriage and their few-years-old son, Danny.Some events has led them to "Panorama" hotel,which is located in mountains.They have to look after it-the season is over,they have a winter break after that.On the very beginning, everything seems to be so pleasing,calm and romantic,but when a snowstorm is coming and they lose a contact with the rest of the world,something wrong is happening to Danny.Boy,who has really strange psychological powers,sees victims of all targedies,which had happened in the hotel,so far.Anyway,since the snowstorm, the novel's atmosphere is going to reach the top of tension.An action is written quite slowly,but it doesn't let us stop to read "Shining".The book,which years ago made its writer famous,has still amazing climate,as not many book has.While reading,I felt as lost and separated from the world as the main characters feel.I have had that feeling only few times in my life.And I think,here,we have the key feature of the whole situation-in the novel,there is a several characters.For instance ,in>Gerald's game< it was only one man,in "Shining" there are three.If we take into account,how great talent to creating psychological portrait of characters,writer owns,we might think that the low number of people is very,very good.We can get closer to a character,meet him/her,know,discover him/her,make a friend and then a book is better.And that should be the last and the most powerful reason,which can convince potential readers, why we ought to move with Stephen King.Move to the place,where behind a snowy fog, weakly appears an old,titanic building.A hotel ,which name you have already known - "Panorama".......
