(Amartya Sen)

Publicidade
The Argumentative Indian displays the argumentation of writer at his best, for a new reader or we can say lay readers can understand and specialize about Indian culture with this delightful readable book. A writer, Noble prize Winner in Economics in 1998, had performed an enormous service by raising some of the fundamental issues confronting democracy not only in India but also in others parts of the world. This book should be read and cherished for its insights and for the deep liberal current that runs through it. This must be essential reading for anybody who hopes to understand India at it best. The Argumentative Indian is not just the reflections of one of the finest minds in the world today, but also a compelling reminder to the world of what makes India a vibrant democracy. The rigour of writer?s exposition and range of his learning make him and his book the most important argumentative Indian of our times. The Writer, Amartya Sen is Lamont Professor at Harvard University, and that reflects through his writing. He also works as a master in Trinity College in Cambridge. A Writer divided his book into four parts firstly as voice and heterodoxy, second as culture and communication; third as politics and protest and last but not the least reason and Identity. The first four, which make up the first part of the book, introduce and explain the principal themes pursued in this book, related to India?s long argumentative tradition. He had given a vast knowledge of India in ancient and from modern point of view. In my opinion every Indian should read this book ,not Indian but also world who wants to know Indian culture and politics this book will definitely help them. This book proves Indian Identity also.
