This book is amazingly humorous. It tells about ordinariness and how to go about one?s life not aspiring for the best but appreciating every little effort you make in order to survive. That the role models we have in life were ordinary people before they became famous or rich. We should learn how to move away from the great expectations that our parents brought us to be to aspire to be the best but be just ourselves. This way we do not lose too much self-esteem if we fail. It also takes into account ancient history. Back then pre-historic men survived on just hunting with no material things. Now we live in the age of technology but life is not necessarily easier. Desire for fame and fortune has made us work harder but not necessarily happier. One does not have to exert too much effort to achieve the best. Life is now even more complicated. We can achieve self-fulfilment by accepting our limitations and appreciating our smallest efforts. We do not have to be a star or a millionaire to be happy and fulfilled. Majority of people are ordinary like us and we should not fret about things we cannot have or people we are not. If we are not expecting something big to happen , when something does happen our pleasure will be great. Your small effort will turn out to be a turning point in your life. Ordinariness should not be a liability but the key to survival. We should be child-like in our approach to life discovering little things which gives us the more pleasure. . It only takes mental conditioning to make life more enjoyable and comfortable. You have to go back to the basics when man just needed the barest of necessities to survive .
