Write your abstract here.Vedanta And the Future of Mankind is discourse by Swami Ranganathananda on the importance of Vedanta in Human Life. The Author augments that the future of the society holds in the teachings of the ancient Hindu Holy books viz. Veda & Upanishads etc.He in his preface argues that though the mankind has made a phenomenal material advancement, and science has taken control of the day to day course of living, the wisdom & peace is still lacking. In the authors word -this gap can be made up by providing to himself by himself a spiritual basis to life.Vedanta ? the teachings of Hindu Holy Books , and rechristioned by swami Vivekanad ? is thus expressed in a very simple and understandable language. The author in his booklet of just 103 pages starts with a narration of his experiences in different conferences on Spirituality & Vedanta around the world. The response and the superficial understanding of the same by different people around the world made him further believe that it needs to percolate in the society through simpler representation. He thus presents this in simple narrations. He very lucidly talks about the Vedantic Messages viz. Human Freedom & Dignity, Theism & Atheism, Static Peity versus Dynamic Spirituality, Truth Seeking, Search of Knowledge, Human Mangement, Intelligence, Poor & Poverty, Social Health, Vivekanand?s teachings etc.as presented in the mythological books. He discusses Spirituality in the light of the teachings from Upanishads, Vedas, Raja Dharma as in Mahabharata, Gita etc.He discusses the interpretation of ?Tat Tvam Asi in Upanishada?, Para Vidya & Apara Vidya in Mundaka Upanishada,? teaching of Gita with regard to unfolding of knowledge etc. The book details the human evolution through spiritual growth, The complete nutrition of mankind i.e. physical, mental & spiritual, Educatuion as Atma Vikas Development of Oneself), Freedom of Human Spirit, etc. - All these have been discussed in this book in the light of Vedanta. The first edition of the book was published in 1980 by the publication division of Advaita Ashram and had its sixth reprint in July 2001.
