This classicbook written by George Orwell (pen name of Eric Blair) is a fine story of what animals would do if they were russians (oops),i mean if they could behave like humans. Starting with the sad beginning of what the Elder pig on the farm calls their past and ending with a painful future of the same pigs ruling the Animal farms, ananimaltragedy is what this story could be best described as.The story beginson a farmowned by a cruel owner who spends his time drunk, for most part of the story if not all the location is the farm. The animals being trated cruelly decide to attend a meeting with the most eldest pig who describes their past when they wish for a bright future and a song which was taught to them "beast of england"(watching the cartoon on this could give you a gothic tatse of what it sounded like). The next two days turning to the changing point in their lives when the pig dies and they out of mere reaction pursue out their farm owner (talk of a revolution). Then the story heats up with them trying to for new rules like the famous "all animals are equal". while this goes on they is the intrigue raised by the two strong pigs snowball and napoleon, with wars fought and constant arguements snowball is chased out.The renamed farm-"animal farm" turns upside down. New rules come up and old rules are changed without the ignorant animal knowing-the climax is at the catching of a propaganda master writing, "all animals are equal but some are more equal than others". As a short novel of less than 200 pages it is nice for teenagers who won't read starwars or romancing the stone. And for historians it gives an analysis in quite unclear terms what happened in russia at the beginning of last century during the reign of Stalin-a dictator/ruler of russia.In any case if you feel pained about the end of the tale,get the oldies cartoon film version even your kids will love it.
