Death On The Nile
(AGATHA CHRISTIE)
Hercule Poirot who is present throughout the events preceding the two murders and had ample exposure to the characters physical and mental thought processes fails to prevent the occurrences of the two crimes.Such is the ingenuity of the criminals that they created a false impression on everyone and were able to carry out their evil plan on the luxury boat from England to Egypt where the rich American heiress was traveling on her honeymoon. The presence of her solicitor's agent to surreptitiously protect her interest against the designs of her trustee adds to more confusion in solving the murder. The presence of a number of copassengers with diverse conflicting states of mind with their family members, causing them to behave in a suspicious manner makes the mystery even more of a riddle. No wonder the great H.P. calls himself an imbecile. Truly an entertaining yarn from the great lady of thrillers!
