Mark Steyn has taken a demographic approach to the future in America Alone. He sees the falling birthrate in western countries combined with the rising one inMoslem communities as a predictor of a future of Islamic totalitarianism and unemployed youth engaged in death cults.
Western democracies, according to Steyn, have bent over backwards to tolerate immigrant populations, thereby sowing the seeds of their own demise. Steyn has many facts to support his theory, often little-known ones.For instance, the declarations of a Nowegian imam that Islam will conquer Europe, and the pressure put on Austrian teachers to wear head scarves. Steyn is determined to wave a red flag of warning with very convincing arguments.
