The X-rated Bible: An Irreverent Survey Of Sex In The Scriptures
(Ben Edward Akerley)

Publicidade
A retired University professor proves that sexual scandal and the political art of spin have been around since Biblical times using selected scriptures. The King James Version of the Holy Bible contains more sexual references than any dozen selections in an average adults only bookstore according to Ben Edward Akerley.Professor Akerley proves his point by citing over 500 biblical passages with sexual references from the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Various scriptures containing tales of incest (Gen. 19:30-38); homosexuality (Gen19:4-5); rape (Gen 34:1-4); adultery (Gen 39:1-15); indecent exposure (Gen. 9:20-21); prostitution (Gen. 38:11-26) and bigamy (Gen. 29:20-28) are found in Genesis alone. The scriptures also contain stories of priestly misconduct (I Samuel 2:22-23); sodomy (Jude 1:6-7); bisexuality (2 Samuel 1:25-26); sexually transmitted diseases (Psalms 38:7) and royal polygamy (I Kings 11:1-3). Some critics have argued that the entire Song of Solomon is the oldest surviving example of erotic literature. The author offers the opinion that the Bible is an ancient book of fables, legends and moral precepts recorded by man. This decidedly non-fundamentalist overview encourages heretics, heathens, hedonists and born-again believers to take a closer look at the undisputed number one best seller of all time.
