Usually when I read a Historical of any kind I never expect to find Werewolves and Witches in them. The Untamed One is the very first Historical Romance novel I have read that had those in it, and I wasn't dissapointed in the least.

This book is a thrill a minute, every page is sharp and not a paragraph is wasted on something that will bore a reader to tears, or to putting the book down and never picking it up again, it's up to you as the reader to choose that option.

Jackson is a wealthy nobleman who is shunned by society because of his strange ways and the rumours that surround him. The realy truth is so much more horrible, he under the curse of a Witch, a Witch that cursed his family more then a hundred years ago. The curse spreads from one generation to the next, and Jackson believes that the only way to break the curse and set himself and his brothers free would be by defeating his sworn enemy. A Witch.

Enter Lucinda, not your average Witch, as she is no wrinkled hag with warts, in fact she is a rather young and lovely red head, who is right in the middle of giving birth to her son when Jackson comes in, but instead of killing her, he saves her and her baby since she is having trouble delivering the child on her own. As a Witch, she isn't the most popular among the villagers, and neither is Jackson since they figured out what he was and gave chase, all the way to Lucinda's hut. She runs while Jackson changes, he changes into a wolf and also escapes the villagers, only to forget about Lucinda and continue his quest.

Some months later, he returns home to find the Witch in his bed. She arrived and tricked the servants by posing as his wife so that she and her son might have a comfortable place to stay. Jackson has become a drunkard and a womanizer since his curse took him, but he is not the kind whowants to kill, instead, hethreatens to throw her out, but Lucinda offers her powers as a Witch to cure him in exchange for the continued safety and safekeeping of her son.

Jackson accepts her offer, easily since he bonded with the baby after delivering him. What he doesn't know is that the secret of his real father puts all three of them in danger, and as Jackson begins falling in love with Lucinda, will he let her get away so easily?

Read this novel and you will understand why Ronda Thompson is a New York Times bestselling author!
