The Lord Of The Rings
(Tolkien)

Publicidade
I am not surprised the production, The Lord of the Rings, closed early in October. The book is an epic. How could the producers cram three dense books in only three hours. But Tolkein's books, including The hobbit. are excellent books. They are especially good when one is meant to be doing one's homework or putting the supper on.Ha. That really dates me.I find that one can skip or scan the middle book of the Lord of thr Rings and still be able to follow the plot. I believe Tolkein and C.S.Lewis had a lot in common. They lived through the second world war. They seemed to use the genre of fantasy as a way of coping with all the conflict. At the end of both Tolkein and C.S. Lewsis, the author write about the last days and the better world to come.Another gift Tolkein had was the gift of poetry. However of all his books I would recommend the reader starts with the Hobbit.
