The first book in the women?s murder club series, gives the reader a suspenseful trip through its chapters. Lindsay is first on the scene of a gruesome murder. The couple on the night of their honeymoon slaughtered. She has few clues to go on. Her best friend, Claire, works in the medical examiner?s office, and working on the case. Lindsay meets Cindy, a reporter for the local paper, trying to sneak into the first murder scene. After a second couple disappears, and suspected to be murdered, they decide over drinks to form a group to unofficially solve the case. Lindsay?s new partner, Chris, knows little about the group. After they find the second couple out in a vineyard, they continue to struggle putting together a suspect. Some solid clues have surfaced. The third couple murdered occurs out of state at the wedding reception itself. After Lindsay questions the bride?s parents and close friends, she gets a very specific profile of the killer. Only after some prodding, does she finally get a name. It is a name she does not expect. They want the case to be able to go to trial. Jill, an assistant district attorney, works on the case, and becomes the fourth member of the club. They do not have enough evidence to arrest him, so the girls go searching for the evidence they need from the murder cases. The suspect?s ex-wife finally breaks the case for them. There are some old writings of his that describe in detail these exact murders. They find these writings. As they prepare to go to trial, the suspect still claims his innocence. To everyone?s surprise Lindsay believes him. As the story ends, there are three twists that leave the reader speechless. Those will be saved for the reader to enjoy.
