KOHINOOR DIAMOND...lets recall its history
The kohinoor DIAMOND is the world's most famous diamond and means mountain of light.british and legendary queens have worn it, legends and curses surrounds it.
Much history and many legends surround this magnificent jewel which now forms part of the Royal Collection at the Tower of London. Its most illustrious owner was Maharajah Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh Kingdom. He was given the diamond by the Emperor Shah Shuja in return for assistance whilst he was in exile. The diamond came to Britain as part of the annexation of the Sikh Kingdom and the removal from India of Maharajah Duleep Singh who eventually presented it to Queen Victoria.
It remains to this day a symbol of the splendour and wealth of the Sikh dynasty and is a reminder of Sikh history at its best and its worst.
