Target of Rs 150 on Reliance Petroleum Investment Advisor, SP Tulsian is of the view that one can see a price of Rs 150 on Reliance Petroleum if the same refining margins continue. Tulsian told CNBC-TV18, "When the Reliance Petroleum went public there was a lot of hype and that time it was known that refinery will take about three years time. They will be starting the production in December 2008. That is what they have hinted. But because of the carnage of this market, this share has also fallen though it got listed at Rs 100. It did not hold to those levels, on the day of listing it closed at around Rs 85 and that was the price at which majority of the investors have been invested in the scrip." He further added, "If one takes a long term call this refinery is very good. They are setting up a very big refinery of Rs 27000 crore (Rs 270 billion) with five lakh eighty thousand barrels per day. The project cost of the refineries is practically half. If there were any other refinery in any part of the world it would cost Rs 54000 crore (Rs 540 billion). The completion time is three years against six years. The debt equity ratio is very good." "The Reliance Industries will ultimately be having 51% stake in the company with 29% eventually be held by Chevron, if they opt to exercise the remaining 24%, right now they are holding 5%and they have the option to increase their stake to 29%. Reliance industries will have 51% and Chevron will have 29% with 80% of the promoter's equity, one will understand the confidence they have. This refinery is on a Nelson Complex city Index of about 14. That means they will always be having 2-3 dollar extra against the benchmark, the refining margin, which is about USD 8-9. This year it is likely to be about USD 9 so once they will start the production they will always have better margin. I see a price of atleast Rs 150 plus if the same refining margins continuous, with the crude remaining at the same high level of USD 70 plus."
