Why Do You Look for The Living Among the Dead??
Luke 24:1-8 tells the story of when the women arrived at the tomb to tend to the body of Jesus but they found that the stone had been rolled away and the body missing. Man can try to stop the works of God in primitive fashions, such as a heavy stone in an entry to keep the miraculous from happening, but its like comparing the effect of a small gnat to a giant. The act can seem to be a nuisance but hardly an issue that will affect God?s will for your life. Many people try to stifle you with words or actions but just like the stone, these trials can be rolled away.
The women stepped inside looking for the body of Jesus and finding it empty. Sometimes we can be looking for a solution that is seemingly empty, but just like the women and the tomb there?s angels standing there waiting to ask you why do you search for the living among the dead? We can search for Jesus in alcohol, drugs, and various addictions and we can search for Jesus in all the wrong places but the results are that of searching for His body in an empty tomb.
The angels go on to remind the women, Remember how he told you? You have to remember the words He whispered to YOU?not you sister, not your brother, not your mother, not your father, not your friends, etc. He whispered some words to you. Stop relying on other people to tell you what God said about your life. He told you and if you quiet the noise in your life you will remember it.
On this day, think of the risen Savior and remember what He told you.
