Abstract: This book is a comprehensive analysis tool for psychiatrists and effective remedy for the people suffering from bipolar disorder. The author has carried out number of case studies to bring out very simple and practical ways of diagnosing ailments like anxiety, depression, irritability, lack of focus ,sleep problems .The author recommends a balance mix of medication, physical exercises, change in eating habits and social life and collaboration by family members to help people of bipolar disorder . The author emphasizes on early analysis of causes for symptoms like grandiosity, depression,, over talkativeness, distractibility, increased activity level, irritability. It is important that psychiatric diagnosis are unbiased and based on four fundamentals-symptoms, symptoms course on time, family history and response to prior treatment Mistaken diagnosis due to lack of co-operation by the patient or any other reason can lead to wrong medication and may have adverse effect. The patient knows more about his/her symptoms and body response than the doctor. Therefore doctor and patient should work as a team to identify right medicine for the bipolar disorder. It is advisable to take second opinion before prescribing treatment The author gives statistics like 30% of the patients get well by using mood stabilizer without any side effect and duration of use will depend how chronic is the case. There are well proven therapies across the mood spectrum - Cognitive Behavior Therapy ( CBT) ,Interpersonal Therapy ( IPT) ,Social Rhythm Therapy ( SRT), Family Focus Therapy ( FFP) , Psycho-Educational Therapy ( PET) . In addition balancing on Time, Tools Tradition ( TTT) , adjustment in food habits and collaboration by family members, peers and friend can help to mitigate effect of Bipolar disorder and enable a person perform normally and live happy life. The bottom line is that patient should be willing to change and happy to team up with the doctor.
