(Revelation 11) We?re living in the days of Revelation, and I believe the time is coming soon when man?s traditional way of looking at the heavens, life and the world we live in will be completely overturned in many areas of thinking and perceiving.
Scientists and religious scholars are still divided on the subject of special creation versus evolution; though both schools give important clues as to man?s distant past. In fact both are right, and though it?s a paradox the day will come when it will be realized.
Personally I maintain that the universe operates in cycles of 7000 years. The 6000 years that have passed since special creation began, and the 1000-year period of the Millennium added to it we end up with 7000 years ? one complete cycle of evolutions that come and go. I take the view that the Solar System arrives at an equilibrium around the 6000-year mark, and according to the ?Uncertainty Principle? in science except for God nobody can forecast the exact date this will happen save to say that there will be certain indicators how close the system is to equilibrium. We?re positioned at this critical point at present. The Bible gives few clues as to what will occur at the end of the 7000 years, but hints it will come to a total collapse when God will send fire from heaven and destroy Satan and all of his cohorts, while the God-elect will be saved.
The Millennium is comparable to Sunday ? the Sabbath . On this day man shall rest from all his labour - a paradisical state. This represents the new city Revelation 21 speaks of in metaphor. To live in it it?s incumbent that its citizens be newly taught as is clearly indicated at Hebrews 5:12 with these words: ?For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again (of new realities) which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.?
The ?two witnesses? that are spoken of in both poetical and metaphorical narration in Revelation 11 are those silent witnesses that testify to both ? special creation and evolution. They also relate to the ?two olive trees? shedding their creation at the end of each season, and the ?two candlesticks? that put light into darkness. These are very self-evident representations of an ongoing evolution that every special creation encourages. When the Solar System has been restored of all its variable energy a supernovae will occur that re-creates life on earth again. The ?beast? that is evolution is a constant in nature. It comes with each new cycle and eventually destroys all that man has built and is familiar to him. The battleground that is earth separates the sheep from the wolves; but they don?t care about the ?Special Creation? or ?Evolution? theories. When the ?remnants? realize the significance of the two witnesses they?re in awe and fear knowing that the event will occur again. Judgment is meted out that destroys those that destroy the earth. After that the ?witnesses? are reinstated and a ?flash? of enlightenment transforms the ?blind? into ?seeing?, and the ?stubborn? into ?meek? we relate to as 'rapture'. Only through fossil finds, robust stone buildings that have resisted the collapse of cycles, and material remnants archaeologists have unearthed that testify to bygone ages do we realize that we live in an evolutionary world that comes and goes in cycles. The well-adapted person will make a good transition when the time arrives supported in the theory of Survival of the Fittest.
