Popularity is everything these days ... even in the highest heights of Literature and Literary fame ... if your work is NOT popular then "drop out" "stop doing it" .... it might improve the Soul and create well being for the Body, but unless you are there in the "Best Seller Lists of the World" then forget it ...
This book is a collection of fiction stories written by the great master of fiction H.G. Wells
Some one once said .. that all you need to do is copy up the notes on the jacket of the book and that's all that is required. In fact, I heard a similar story years ago at University. Everytime a certain student of Architecture was invited to discuss Literature he repeated that
"I haven't read the book, but I've seen the film"
This was a great joke at that point in time. I like the first title; The Invisible Man ... and often at parties girlfriends would say something to the effect that they felt like the invisible woman, because whatever they were wearing or whatever they did they could not attract the attention of Mr. BIG! These day, I would suggest, they have no problem. Their "hair" does it for them, escecially if its /emerald green/ /orange/ or /shocking pink/
I went into a hairdressing salon several years ago, and asked the Hairdresser to "tart me up a bit" I came out looking like one of the actors from GODFATHER III - it was so shocking that a colleague from the Office, crossed the street, rushed up to me and said .. /you've done something pretty radical to your hair/ I got glances at London Heathrow Airport and I was lined up with the PINK hair girl! Ever since that time, I've held off anything too brash!
This Collection is indeed, a cross section of the /best of H.G. Wells/ keep on reading .... excellent reading ...
